I slowly roused from my sleep, waking up gently to a dull dark room, quiet and still, with no one there to make a sound. I longed to stretch out, but even in my drowsy state I knew that would be a bad idea. I licked my dry lips and lifted a hand to rub the sleep out of my eyes. I wondered how long I had been sleeping for, it felt like days, but I knew it must've only been hours. Daisy was lying still in her own bed beside me, her breaths even and slow as she slept. It must've been dinner time, it explained why there was no one here and why my stomach groaned at the thought of it.
