Alderus walked into his shop, the scent of the old tomes permeating through the entire building. The bookstore was not very eye catching in any sense of the word, but it fit into the nature of the small town. It was nice. Alderus walked past the shelves of books, and towards a door that had a sign on it that said "Employees only" on it. Alderus pulled a small key out of his pocket, and placed it into the lock on the door, opening it, after which he looked into the room, to make sure that none of the items were out of place. He closed the door again, and locked it, walking back to the front of the store. Alderus flipped over the sign on the glass window at the front of the store, so that "OPEN" showed to the world outside. He went behind the front counter, flicking the light-switch, and sat down in his chair. He picked up a copy of "The Lord of the Flies" and began to read it, even though he had read it 27 times already.
