I was planning to focus the story more on the first years, sort of like a beginning arc. Perhaps as the story progresses, we'll start to see more advanced students come into play? Even still, some tasks don't require combat. Some duties as a Dawn Slayer are as simple as leading a spirit back to the afterlife or as boring as informing humans of the existence of witches and not having them burn at the stake.

Also, this is starting to remind me of a mix between Soul Eater and RWBY.
