Helena stared at the water quietly, lost in her thoughts. Even if she didn't feel sick, her thoughts were keeping her from having fun. She had been thinking about what had happened back then an awful lot lately, even though most of all, she just wanted to forget it, more than she wanted anything else. But how could she? The whole happening had left her scarred and it had kept her thoughts occupied for so long, it still did, had never stopped doing so. It was the reason she now cringed at each single bit of physical contact, why she hated it so much to be touched, why even a tap on her shoulder made her uncomfortable. Not that her father ever noticed anything. He was far too busy. Sometimes she wondered if he actually did remember that she existed before they threatened to kill her. But with Leo, it was different. He had been the first person she didn't mind touching her since what had happened, actually felt good around him. She had even enjoyed their kiss, it was a gentle and loving one. The way he treated her was just so much different from the rough, violent, painful way they had treated her back then... around him, she finally managed to feel alright again.
