It was an awkward car ride to say the least. Peter was still devastated, and Lexi's father talking crap about Spider-Man didn't help him whatsoever. When he made his request, Peter couldn't look at him in the eyes. He promised himself that he would protect her no matter what a long time ago. Ever since her first heartbreak (Which was way before he got his powers, so he wouldn't have been able to do much anyway.... "I-I promise you, sir I'll do everything I can to keep her safe.... I'm so sorry..." He said, looking at him only for a few seconds before he couldn't take it anymore. He knew that his sorry sounded like he was sorry for his and her pain, but it really meant that he was sorry he couldn't help her in time.

They reached the lab that Doctor Octavius was in, and Mister Rogers was already running for the door. Peter quickly followed after him, and he stood there, staring at his shoes as he talked. If anyone could help, It would be the man in front of them... It was their only hope for Lexi's life.... Peter could never live with himself if she died. Peter jumped a bit when he heard his name from Octavius, asking him to join in... He wanted his help? Of course he did, Pete!

He felt guilty, and hurt, and angry with himself.... But before he had the ability to protect anyone, he had brains. He was incredibly smart.... Spider-Man's blood would be a factor in saving Lexi's life.... But it will be Peter Parker who will save her.

Peter followed after him, now driven and not so grieving. She wasn't dead. And he was [I]not[/I] going to let her. He grabbed the coat, and started for the equipment. It was incredible working in such a high tech lab, with Octavius telling him what was going on with his researched. He looked bruised and shakened... Something was troubling him. Peter took breaks to call Aunt May, she saying she understood, and she visited Lexi in the hospital. He ate when he only had to, as did the Doctor... while they were hard at work, Doctor Octavius coughed. "Did.... Did He... hurt anyone else...?" The doctor asked quietly.

Peter looked over at him, he starting at a sample absently. Peter shook his head. "He hurt a lot of people, Doctor Octavius... but nothing serious... the only person..... The only person he seriously injured was Lexi..." Peter said unintentionally cold. The Doctor shook his head, and opened his mouth to say something, but stopped, going back to work.

The two great minds worked fast, and quickly, all running multiple tests, then ditching the ideas when they saw the result, and going back.... But, one last serum passed all the tests.... They did it. They could have found a way to save Lexi Roger's life.
