"I don't care about the cut in funding, it was an unavoidable measure to keep this place afloat!" Muarine's strangely accented voice yelled angrily at the slim smartphone in her hand. "Take less pay, hire less interns, find a way to continue with the project. End of discussion!" The last line was bellowed as the dark haired woman held the phone aloft and stabbed angrily at the screen. Genesis could have laughed, but she held the snicker behind her lips. Her mother was angry enough, best not to anger her wrath further. The young woman turned and began to head the opposite direction across the polished wood floor. "What is it, Genesis?" Her mother's tone was full of frustration, and even without looking at her, Genesis could feel the anger literally vibrating through the air. The teen winced as she turned and shrugged, "I was just wondering if you could pay my book tab...at Martha's...wasn't sure if Jamison relayed the message." "Of course he did, and you listen to me." Her mother held out an accusing finger as she stalked towards her daughter, anger at her for now apparent reason,"I will continue to indulge your ridiculous fancies, but you will be ready tomorrow morning, EARLY, and you will go to that college and put in your application and you will sign up for your classes and you WILL ATTEND THEM." She roared as Genesis raised an eyebrow. "Sure." The young woman turned and headed towards one of the sweeping staircases and out of sight of Maurine. She wasn't going to fight, she was just going to get fucked up and sneak out. With a shrug the girl slammed the door to her room and within minutes had music blaring through the opulent room. Her bathroom was steaming up as she filled a large tub with scalding hot water. A few joints had been rolled and set beside tub as well as a few razor blades and a few lines of white powder. She smirked, tonight she would up her stash and forget about her crazy ass mother.
