From the second he was engineered to the very moment in which his conception was confirmed by a league of joyous scientists, his existence was shrouded by a fear mutual to all those who took part in his genesis. Project Genesis/Lazarus had clear intentions from the start, or so it seemed. However, in order to bring such an idea to fruition, much like any other idea birthed in the field of science, it needed tests. Experiments. Trials. Yes, these children were to be the future of humanity, but what exactly could be done to these children, or what exactly could be done in [i]general[/i] to augment them so they could fit such a role? Jin was the result of the first and last experiment to give existence to non-existence. As far as the whitecoats know, he is the single carbon-based lifeforms to exist solely as an organic being to have been conceived while influenced by the cryptic properties of dark matter. The subject of dark matter brought fear to scientists for years, even before Project Lazarus/Genesis. It embodied the concept that there existed a form of matter, fueled by its own form of energy, that no such thing could perceive or exist within. How then could the engineers of Project Lazarus manifest the very essence of Dark Matter in an embryo void of any conscience to refuse its frightening fate to be? Growing up, there would be times where Jin would not be able to be seen. Other times he would not be able to be heard. Sometimes, people would spontaneously forget he existed, but no, he was always there, watching and learning. His peers didn't speak of him much; there wasn't much to speak [i]of[/i]. He wasn't an introvert, quite the contrary. He found it easy to make friends simply because he had one social ability that most everyone lacked - an ability that would make him one of the most desired companions, even if for just a moment so. He knew how to listen, and listen well at that. These children were torn, lost, confused. Some needed to vent, and they did so to Jin, who simply listened. He listened for hours on end, acknowledging whatever he was told. But he wasn't simply a source of drainage; he remembered what he heard and engraved what he saw to his memory, always being able to find some solution to the problem's that people had because he knew exactly what was going on. It was for this reason that Jin became one of the most unpopular popular kids of his kind. The silent celebrity. At age ten, Jin understood exactly what his body was capable of accomplishing. His mind - capable of processing information far beyond that of a homohomosapien's - began to understand the dark matter and dark energies that made up most of the universe. His knowledge was his greatest ally, but his greatest weakness, too. Having live his whole life manipulating dark energy, he began to speculate on the knowledge he had of its nature. It hurt him to understand himself, and he found himself questioning his existence every minute of every hour of every day. He simply wanted to know how his powers worked and what they meant, but never was he able to figure it out, and it tortured his mind. Jin eventually decided he needed to find a way to channel all his knowledge and focus it down to a point at which he could think of other things and [i]live[/i] for once. Having attained a greater understanding of his "gift", Jin slipped away from the grasps of the organizations that had been training and conditioning him. He felt that there may come a time where he would miss his time at the academy, but he knew that solitude would bring him the solace he needed. Since then, he's been living in the Caribbean, a changed man who barely remembers his past. Jin chose to forget his origin in order to pursue the life that a human was entitled to on Earth - a life of relaxation, leisure, meditation, and immense humility. He moved from island to island, settling in Jamaica more often than others. Jin is now 21 and he continues to live his life of solitude. He is not alone, however. Never does a day pass in which Jin doesn't roam the streets to help those who need aid. He's made a name for himself, and due to his cryptic nature, people have come to refer to him as "Duppy" (it means "ghost" or "demon" in Jamaican culture). Jin now spends most of his time continuing to train his body and mind, while peacefully and orderly progressing his powers to further his understanding of who he is and why he is. --- //--[b]Skills/Abilities[/b]--\\ [list] [*]Jin is a near master of stealth and acrobatics.[/*] [*]Jin is extremely agile and dextrous. He has amazing hand eye coordination and remarkable fleet of foot.[/*] [*]Jin is considered "strong" for a human being. There are definitely regular civilians out there who can best him in a contest of raw strength, but he has his fair share of muscle.[/*] [*]Jin has the ability to perceive and manipulate dark energy to an extent. Dark energy is the energy that is hypothesized to fuel the expansion of the universe. This gives him two unique abilities: first, the ability to apply spontaneous force to objects around him (pseudotelekinesis), and second, to completely turn himself into dark matter, where he disappears from human perception completely, although for a short time only. His first ability came to light when he found his palms glowing a black and purple tiny while various toys in his room began to float while outlined by the same tint. He also found that he could force dense amounts of dark energy out of his palms, causing dark energy explosions which could create enough force to tear down walls or blow back bullets. However, there also came a time where he would find himself unable to be seen, heard, or felt. This is because, as dark matter, he existed on a plane separate from organic perception, as if he were in a different dimension. He could still move around while he was in this state, and he would often use it to slip by certain people undetected for the short duration of his power.
