haha I think the quote in my signature explains it better than what I'm going to do.

He's just an honest, pure man. He doesn't think he's better than anyone else. He is at every possible peak of human capability without it being super human. He struggles with the struggles that we do. He is always in a constant fight for what's right, and has a hard time seeing that, as most people do... 

Even before his powers he got beaten up constantly for sticking up for people no matter who they were. He knew he wasn't going to win it, but standing up for something is better than sitting down and letting it happen. He's still the guy from Brooklyn, even though he's the leader of the Avengers hahaha
