Training T'charrl, hm? That was no small task, even for someone as knowledgeable as Roshi. True, he'd taught plenty of people, but never an alien like this. Plus he had never taught a student who could make plants grow like that, it was a totally new take on what Ki was capable of. Perhaps it wasn't Ki, though then again that didn't make any sense. He could sense energy, the hermit would call it Ki, and yet... Hm, maybe there were two different energies within T'charrl? This was far too much to be contemplating so early in the day, he was just going to treat this as a normal lesson and see how things went from there. Coughing into a fist again the old man smiled up at the alien, shaking his head, "I'm sure you did, T'charrl! And you're going to get it again, with hard work and practice!" Some people had a natural affinity for Ki and others didn't, perhaps this boy was in the latter. No problem, Ki was something anyone could grasp with the proper training. "T'charrl, are you able to sense your own energy? I noticed you were having trouble before, did you ever get that step down?" "I know you didn't do it on purpose, goofball." Takeshi teased gently, getting Shu to his feet. "And you won't go flying if you just be more careful. It's all about control Shu, and not using too much." No one doubted Shu could release Ki, he did it all the time, and by the loads. It was more whether he could dictate how much he expended, which up to this point had seemed like a pretty strong 'not'. That's what they were here for, and hopefully by the end of the week the issue would be no more. That largely depended on how he and Roshi taught these two, which in that regard he was fairly confident. Smiling amused as Shu shared his rather robust excitement Takeshi laughed lightly, folding his arms and raising an eyebrow. "Too much energy huh? Well we could always tire you out first, then you wouldn't have as much. Or we can just keep working on it." Cupping his chin thoughtfully he moved over to his brother, grabbing one of his arms and gently extending it outward. "Hold that right there..." he said, stepping away and in front of Shu, being a few meters off. "Now straighten out your hand like you're going to blast something, and focus on moving your Ki to your hand without shooting anything off. Not hitting me is more incentive to do it right, yeah?":Plus he ought to be fine even if he was hit, he could take a good blast or two. "How about it? Let's see if having a reason not to release energy helps."
