Giovanni ducked another hollow attacking him and reached for his blade. Gio was playing it safe, keeping his spiritual energy output higher than his teammates so that the lesser hollows would focus on him so long as they didnt see the others. It also made him a target for the menos but Ko's 'tactic' would keep their attention on her. So long as he could sense the hollows around him, menos included, he didnt really have to worry about the menos getting the jump on him. Another hollow lunged for him but he cut off its arm with a diagonal slice and slammed his fist into its mask shattering it with the Tessho technique.
