What I mean is, doing 'everything we can' would mean there should be a minimum of four entries right now, which is plenty to have a vote.
Your point is solid in terms of investment, mdk. The only catch is that if the contest kept up numbers solely from manager-submissions you wouldn't really be fixing a whole lot. There are two contests. So, even if one manager wrote a short fiction and two others did a flash, the best result would be two pairs competing directly (I'm counting that single submission received). Again, that's the ideal. With such a close knit managing crew you'd also prevent them from voting since writing style would probably be as clear as signing your name. Your idea might work if there was some visual marker for how many people had submitted, hopefully inspiring others to join the bandwagon, but even with managers providing updates as they do now there clearly isn't much of a positive result. The WOTM struggling is not the fault of the managers. We have a New Guild, new structure, and even our returning population has changed in how it views the community. Even the best manager would need time to adapt and I'd say that is probably next step for the WOTM -- adaptation. Personally, I'd prefer them to do the responsible thing and focus their attentions on ways to revitalize and restructure this idea without overcomplicating it. Doing that's a lot harder with the stress of keeping something sinking afloat. So, I guess I'm saying let's cut them some slack. Let's do our part by talking with our RP communities about this too in order to rally some interest.
