She was different than the Vikings in his village- slighter. He’d seen more of the people of these lands but to survive many were hunters and in extent fighters. They were tough in appearance, hard and worn but there was something delicate about her. Something that kept his eyes upon were even as she retreated to the lack to wash. When she turned around to return he found he was still stupidly holding his hand out and so lowered it. Now he was curious how Toothless would take to her. A cautious stiff and then a snort of satisfaction before he allowed her fingers to graze along his scales. Hiccup smiled idly. Those weren’t the hands of a fighter. “Oh no” The comment broke his study of this girl “but Toothless might be the last of his kind. We’re yet to find another one like him.” Brought him back to countless searches- fruitless. Toothless never seemed too distraught about it maybe because of Aurora, though she had been gone for so long. Toothless returned the affections by lowering his head pushing into her until he had her up on her hind legs and then grinning gummily he spread his wings and shoved her onto her back, pawing playfully at her face. “Uh…” Hiccup chuckled at their antics. “Yep.” He declared surely after a moment. “They got pretty close in the time she stayed in my village despite the fact that they really hadn’t gotten along at first.”
