Hiccup knew how proud Toothless was of the spikes on his back and wasn’t at all surprised when he showed off by clapping them together, gaffing at Aurora’s surprise. He spread his wings as Aurora shoved him and bared his teeth in good natured fun. “Yeah.” Hiccup wanted to ask Aurora if she found her family but didn‘t want to ruin this reunion “she’d been gone for awhile.” He added before picking up his helmet and dusting it off. It seemed like this should have been once of the first islands he discovered but how could he have missed their friend living so close? He wanted to check his map but didn’t want to spread it out with two playful dragons bouncing around and risk it getting ruined. 

“Do you live here then, on this island?” He became more curious at the prospect because he just heard a mention of Aurora being queen of these dragons. From his understanding that meant she sort of claimed this as her lands- her home. But there was this human her. Her rider. He wondered how they met. “Anyone else? I mean… other than the dragons?” He wondered if there was more. Even more than just his mother and this girl. Other dragon riders. Other people that could understand.
