It's based in it's own universe, but stylistically it borrows from every game, including the Laguz and such from 9/10.

When I mean borrows from every game, I mean for example, you can be a class from any of the games (to be determined whether or not your characters can start out as a lord-type char) and story themes and elements are going to be drawn from all of the games.
