He was strong. The breath was knocked out of Mimic and now with the chokehold he was in pain. There was strength that was powerful in this organic, symbiotic being that John had. He was the spawn of Anti-Venom, so he wasn’t surprised to see such aggression. 

Now, however, wasn’t the time for tactics or fancy retorts; he was really trying to kill him. He emanated a sort of evil from such belligerence and intentions. Mimic got complacent.

He was on the ground, he had to think fast. He was in a chokehold, so Mimic telepathically did a chokehold on John as well. To add to this, his wings were still free, and with a struggled adjustment, he flapped them and they both went crashing to the ceiling. Using this manoeuvrability, he started to fly both of them around the class. Though slow and fluctuated, he maintained his rigor and did not want to show that John won, and went on with a fight, purposely crashing into the walls. 

And with one charged up blast from his laser vision, he fired and maintained a beam on John’s face, hoping he’d let go.
