BioPILOT knew, of course, that Martin had entered the vicinity. The concept of space was limited only to our four dimensions, and the mind had no need for it. Having ascended beyond the constraint of any physical body completely, he had become nothing more than a thought. Although it could not survive without a body, it posed a threat as long as there was biological life on this planet who's bodies it could use. This was unexpected and unfortunate, and yet BioPILOT was far more capable of dealing with a psychic offensive than some might have thought, and already it's massive mind was sending a barrage of psychic attacks at the intruder. It downloaded the electronic signals from the minds of the test subjects, as, instantly, every biological mind in Terebithia was shut down, completely deactivated, providing no hosts unless Martin was willing to bond with a psysical body once more. However, BioPILOT would kill any such body before Martin could once more ascend, and the sudden death would destroy the threat. The AI, which had somehow gained vampire powers of telepathy, was going to war.
