The moment Kotani had grabbed on to his arm, he came to sudden realization, as though he had been snapped out of a trance. He looked at the girl and then looked down.

"S-sorry," He said, "I don't know what got into me. I guess I just miss the days of being home..." He picked up the pages of the book, placing them back within the cover.

As he placed it back in his satchel, he gestured for them to continue walking. "Ever since I've been sent here I can't fly... At least, not like I used to be able to. My wings have become much weaker than they used to be... and I can only display them for a short time... I've always known that... I guess I got excited."
