Or rather, I didn't think of it that early but I changed it a bit from when I came up with it a while ago.
I was thinking of a power that basically revolved around magic cards. These cards would appear in Vindle's hands and he could use them as he wished. I was thinking of limiting it to cards with fire and electricity at first, then more cards would gradually become available as he practiced.
