One paragraph of back story: The long lost half brother of maka, yamazaki was born from an affair between a harlots and spirit. Thrown into an orphanage at a young the only thing he ever cared about was become a death scythe. Hearing that he father was said weapon, yamazaki always wanted to to show his father how strong he was, and believed that by doing so he would allow him and his new found sister to become a family agian. He blames himself for maka hating spirit.
