While Veria was gone, Swims packed up the food that was still good and discarded the rest. It was disappointed that they were facing such setbacks so soon, but it they were going to find their riches, they would need to deal with some hardships. Fortunately, Veria returned not long afterwards with a successful kill. As she approached the fire, Swims smiled, then looked at the dead rat with a threatening expression. "Yeah, not so happy now, you little wretched vermin." He said, taunting the corpse of the pest. Since a rat was hardly enough for a breakfast for two, Swims grabbed two oranges out of his bag, which had been untouched by the rat. It would still be a light breakfast, but they now needed to be very cautious with their supplies. As Veria started on cooking the rat, Swims let out a sigh. "So...we haven't really gotten out to the best start. Still, I'm hopeful. I think we should always make sure to have someone on watch at night from here on out. We can rotate between sleeping, or something." He suggested.
