Mankind has grown quite fond of recounting the exploits of heroes and villains, forgetting so easily that we are remnants, byproducts, of a forgotten past." Man, born from dust, was strong, wise, and resourceful, but he was born into an unforgiving world. An inevitable darkness - creatures of destruction; the creatures of Grimm - set their sights on man and all of his creations. These forces clashed, and it seemed the darkness was intent on returning man's brief existence to the void. However, even the smallest spark of hope is enough to ignite change, and in time, man's passion, resourcefulness, and ingenuity led them to the tools that would help even the odds. This power was appropriately named Dust. Nature's wrath in hand, man lit their way through the darkness, and in the shadow's absence came strength, civilization, and most importantly, life. But even the most brilliant lights eventually flicker and die, and when they are gone... darkness will return. So you may prepare your guardians, build your monuments to a so-called 'free world', but take heed... there will be no victory in strength. But perhaps victory is in the simpler things that you've long forgotten. Things that require a smaller, more honest soul. Plot: You play as a student now attending Beacon academy, during a time a bit further back than you might know. A time before Ozpin, before the White Fang. You begin in the first year, the first day, in which Beacon has been opened. You first day will put you on an airship leading towards your first test, your Entrance Exam. You are to enter the Emerald Forest and find your partner. Your Partner shall be the first person you make contact with. Afterwards, you and your partner must go find another pair of partners and make your way to the floating Castle of Laputa with your team. Along the way you will be fighting a numerous amount of Grimm, who will not hesitate to kill you nor will any of the Beacon staff come to save you if you get hurt or injured. You must arrive with your team to the Castle of Luputa and survive for the duration of the test (Five hours), or you fail your Entrance Exam. Do you think you can handle an entire forest of Grimm, the Castle in the Sky, or even those who are to become your partners and allies for the rest of your school years? Well, that's on your shoulders now. Rules: 1. I am the GM and God of the RP. My word is law, even if it may contradict preexisting lore and canon. I also reserve the right to deny are ignore anything that you do if I find it to be unfair, incorrect, or whatever other reason I make up. You may try to explain or correct yourself (I am merciful) but once I make my decision, you will live with it. Or I will kill you. This also extends to any of my Co-GM's; you are to listen and respect them just as I do. If they say or do anything contradictory to me, we will discuss that in private. 2. Follow the rules of the site, both generally and in the Advance section. This means that I expect good quality writing: At least 1500 characters for each post, good grammar and spelling, punctuation, as well as fairness. Meta gaming, godmodding, and any other forms of cheating or unfair play that is outside your character's ability will be punished immediately. If you cannot follow these rules, I will kill you. 3. Arguments with other players should not be within the IC unless it is as your characters. If you have a problem with another player, bring it to me. If you clutter the OOC with arguments, I will ban which ever player annoys me or my GM's the most. 4: Mutinies, like the ones that allowed this RP to occur, is also punishable by death. If anyone suggests to overthrow my rule while I still control this RP will be punished severely. Do it again and I will kill you. 5: This is indeed a tyranny. I will throw situations that will challenge not only your character's ability, but also your confidence and your will to endure pain, punishment, and death. You know, cause it would amuse me. And you. Hopefully. 6. I reserve the right to deny and make changes to your characters as I see fit. 7. More rules will be added as I make them up.
For now I only want everyone to make one student. Once we have a full team, I may allow other characters to be made, including Teachers and and other NPC's.
