George tried his best to suppress his smile at Royal's theatrics when he declined to smoke. It helped that he quite agreed with the young man. When he continued on to say that his niece and nephew adored George's show, he was flooded with pride and gratitude towards Royal for telling him. It always felt damn good to know that there were kids out there who enjoyed watching you work, though of course to George it hardly felt like work. Some of the more serious actors in his profession, especially ones who started with theater like he had, would probably hate the kind of silly role he did but he always found it fun and rewarding. Then Royal told him about his profession, another actor, and showed him a picture of a movie he was doing. It sounded rather disturbing to George, but he'd seen scary movies before and some of them were well worth watching. “I'll have to see it when it comes out.” he smiled, “My nerves may be weaker than most, but I love a good story and good characters. Well, you certainly picked a good place to do some method acting. It feels like this place hasn't been lived in for quite a few decades.” Just then the butler from earlier showed up; he looked a bit worn out and tired. Probably from carrying his employer's bags up to his room. It was then that George suddenly became aware of his own luggage that he'd set down on the floor next to him. Glancing at them, he said to the little group he was talking to. “I'm sorry, Max and I should probably get our bags to our rooms or we'll have to sit on them during dinner. Until later.” With that George nodded to Maxwell behind him, who lifted up his own bags and followed George, who in turn followed the rather young maid upstairs. So young in fact, that she might be young enough to have seen his show. He decided to test this out when they reached their rooms. “Thank you, my dear.” He said graciously and gave her a quirky thumbs up, a trademark of Mister Wilby's which he imitated exactly as he did on the show. If she had recognized him, she either didn't care or was too nervous to show it. He shrugged it off as he trudged into their room and she shuffled away to help other guests. Some peace and quiet for now would be welcome. Maybe they could find time to head back down and meet more of the guests before the bell rang.
