Eclipse watched through pale blue eyes as this self-made god worked his will. Whatever happened to the assassin beside him, he did not know, but he could sense his pain and sorrow. Negative emotions abounded here. It was up to Eclipse to be the light in the dark. He spoke words that probably only he himself could hear, a tear of truth in a sea of blind passion. "So much effort, so much knowledge and power spent to protect others from suffering. Noble motivation gives birth to greatness. Yet, you only manage to kill your allies, becoming the monster that you once despised. I will show you where you went wrong. I will teach you if it takes my life to do so." Now, he just had to wait and continue to protect Matthew. The clone emperor would unfortunately lose control of his world, eventually, but Matthew and his empire would never be out of danger. War would always arise, either a planet would secretly gather enough forces to have a revolt, or some alien agency would invade and start taking over Matthew's defenseless worlds, just as he had done. Matthew, the god-emperor, would succumb to the futility of it all in time, and Eclipse would be there, waiting.
