The second he heard a wolf howl outside the inn, Fujiwara's eyes immediately snapped open and he drew his katana, holding it in one hand and the sheath in the other. Looking around and noticing that nobody (or nothing) was around, he sighed and sheathed his katana before equipping it to his side. Sighing, he opened up his character menu before staring at the time. "3:00... 3 AM. Are you KIDDING ME?" he yelled before taking a deep breath and getting up. "Goddammit, this throws a giant wrench into my plans..." Sighing, he opened the door to his room and walked into the hallway. Looking around, he noticed Umichi and Suki in the hallway. He glanced at Umichi, annoyed, before knocking on Ayame's door. Hearing no response, he opened the door and saw Ayame still asleep. Massaging his forehead, he slowly closed the door before staring at Umichi. "Well, seems like we all got to 'sleep', it seems. Too bad it took up half the night and we've got some kind of wolf romping the streets." he said before pacing back and forth. "This is... A very bad scenario. So much for the plan to get everyone some exp." he said before noticing a quest notification come up. After quickly skimming it through, he looked expectantly at Umichi. "Well. I guess that quest you wanted to do is happening. With a level one. With no battle experience whatsoever. Damn it man, you're bringing a newbie into one of the WORST possible scenarios. And to top it off, she's my-" he began to yell before the door to Ayame's room open up. Ayame, rubbing her eyes out of sleepiness, looked at Fujiwara and Umichi. "What's all the yelling about...?" she asked, rapier hanging by her side. Sighing, Fujiwara stared at Umichi. "She's not participating in this fight, alright? There's no way in hell that she'd be able to survive." he said through clenched teeth before turning to Ayame. His face had suddenly turned into one devoid of emotion; it felt almost as if one could feel the frost emanating from it. "Ayame, stand down for tonight. We'll handle this one." Ayame was taken aback at the sudden shift in emotion, almost enough to completely wake her up. "W-wait, what? Hideki, what are you-?" "Don't worry about it. Just go back to sleep and we'll resolve the issue. It's too dangerous to involve you right now." "Why are you acting so weird all of a sudden? Hideki, just-" "I'm sorry, but this is in your best interests. Just go back to sleep and-" "Hideki! Enough! At least tell me what it is that you so desperately don't want me to worry about!" "...Fine. Apparently Umichi here triggered a quest for a really dangerous monster to spawn. It's late at night and you're level one, so it's very likely that if you come with us you might get hurt and die. I can't let you fight with us today." "... I understand. I'll stay here for tonight. But you'd better come back safe, alright?" Nodding, Fujiwara turned back to Umichi as Ayame closed the inn's door when she walking back in. His cold gaze had faded away, but in its place was an aggravated Fujiwara. "If by some chance that this quest goes wrong..." he trailed off before turning away angrily and storming down the steps on the inn's second floor. As he did so, Ayame slowly reopened her door and peeked outside at Umichi and Suki. "I'm sorry, he gets a bit... Emotional at times. I really do hope he hasn't made too much of a bad impression after that outburst... At the same time, though, in times like these he's always made rash decisions. I'd like to go along with him to make sure he doesn't do anything like that, but at the same time..." she trailed off before exiting the room completely. "Well, you're the leader. I'll do whatever you think is best if my little bro- I mean, old friend isn't thinking straight."
