Islam, as not only a religious but also a well-defined political and social ideology, is incompatible with secular and forward-thinking Western society. Practices like levying higher taxes on non-Muslims and exercising severe, permanent physical injury as punishment for minor crimes are incomprehensible ideas in Western countries.
