Shinichi Kyousuke - "Not Anymore" Shinichi watched curiously as Niji unsheathed her new sword. He must admit that it looked marvelous in its form and structure. The only downside to the weapon was that it’d be much more difficult to use as a deadly weapon now just due to how the dangerous part is blocked by a curved edge. He was going to compliment it but his student continued her end of the dialogue. She asked for assistance in finding something to fight for, an odd request if you really think about how personal it is but as he said before, he’d help out in any way he could. ”I’m sure I can help you find something worth fighting for, but trust me, your gonna find it a lot sooner then I will” he answered with the same general type of tone she spoke it. In all honesty, Shinichi wasn’t sure if Niji really needed any help in finding something to fight for. All she really needed was the knowledge to start looking. With time she will find it and hopefully that something will be worth it. It took thousands of murdered and endless amounts of unending regret for Shinichi to find his something. He just hoped that Niji wouldn’t have to endure all of that just to find peace with her own thoughts and will. Niji seemed to take a small pause after he spoke but what she said after the pause shocked him. He was sure that she wasn’t even remotely positive that she was right in what she was saying but Shinichi knew that was she said was nearly all correct. ”Well, when you’ve been doing this whole ninja thing for years like I have you start to take experiences from other people and sometimes treat them as your own.” the due continued walking as he said this. Now it was a personal debate going on in his head. Should he stick with his response which easily could be taken as truth due to how well of a liar he is, or does he come clean and tell Niji everything he has done? It had been a few minutes since either of them had spoken but Shinichi began speaking as if he was just continuing what had been said seconds ago. ”Although…your imagination may not be so far off…” he stopped walking right as he finished his sentence. Niji was old enough…she would understand. He looking down at the ground as if he was a kid getting scolded for trying to steal a cookie from the cookie jar. ”I just wish I could take it all back…trust me Niji…I just want to take it all back.” He shut his eyes harder than he ever had. Shinichi never acted this way, especially in front of his students. He must’ve just started acting this way because he was about to release seven years of lying and deceit and regret. His fist clenched tight enough to strangle anything in their grasp. Shinichi looked up and opened his eyes, now facing and looking right at Niji. ”There is something…something I need to tell you Niji…but before I do, I first want you to know that I’m not that damn-no-good-asshole-murdering-thief Kazuma Atsuchi…not anymore…” When Shinichi spoke those words he began off with a rather aggressive tone, not towards Niji…but towards himself. By the end of his sentence his tone had changed dramatically. It was a tone of need. A need for forgiveness from not only himself but the thousands of people he had killed in his previous life. Shinichi’s face staring right at Niji was a face of nothing but pain and regret. An obvious frown decorated his face and a single tear had escaped his right eye. For most people it would be clear just from this look that whatever this man has done, he hates himself for it and knows that forgiveness is light years away. ”I’m not him anymore…” you would think he’d close his eyes to cry but all he did was look at Niji and let the single tear fall to the grassy ground.
