In the Academy Shou was taught that against a much stronger opponent sight would let you down, Shou then gripped his Zanpakuto tighter and then saw Rio disappear, he then went to his sense of hearing before hearing a twig snap behind him, he threw his body into a spin so he could turn as soon as possible to try block any incoming attack, however he barely managed to dodge the chop Rio went to give him, thankfully she didn't follow up with another attack but still. Shou then landed back on the floor and slid back a little, he took his left hand off his Zanpakuto then pointed his index finger at Rio and fired a Hado 4, he aimed this to hit he right shoulder. Knowing she was stronger meant he didn't have to really worry about wounding her badly but he'd actually try, it may shock her, in turn creating some form of even small respect for Shou...
