And before you ask, yes, the similarities with X-Men is intentional.
In the year 2238 beings of great power emerged around the world, Supermen that possessed abilities far beyond those of normal human beings. Since then numerous more have popped up and had become a large part of normal society. Some were cruel and wicked tyrants who wanted to use their powers to feed their own sadistic desires. Others were heroes, rising up to the cruel Supermen. Gradually they earned two names. Those who aligned for the side of good were labeled Cardinals, they unified under a red flag with the black outline of a feather. Red became a symbol of heroism and justice, many people sided with. They became their own political party and even took seats of power in the various countries of the world. Such as the UK, America, Canada, China, and Russia. Those who aligned to the side of evil were labeled Cassowaries, they unified under a blue flag with the black outline of a Cassowary's head. Blue became a symbol of cruelty and criminal action, unfortunately, some sided with the Cassowaries. It too became a political party, and they conquered their own countries across Africa, The Middle East, and South America. Superbeings as a whole were labeled Avians. Due to both political parties using birds as their symbol. This uneasy time was heralded by constant strife and war among the Cardinals and Cassowaries, eventually, generations passed by and the strife was not ended with catastrophe but rather indifference. Though the parties still existed, peace followed for the first time in thousands of years. Science began to bloom and technology began to grow at an alarming rate. This became a problem late into the year of 2310. On December 10th, General Hugo Melville presented the world with his way of replacing Avians as the leading militant force. Machine soldiers, mechanized armor, walking tanks, and intelligent AI. These machines were capable of competing with even the strongest of Avians, and the various governments of the world took to them like a moth to a flame. The Cardinals and Cassowaries did not agree with this method, feeling that nearly a century of work that they had put into this was going to waste. In July of 2311, on the 21st. An Avian from the Cardinal party made the worst decision for all of Aviankind. He killed General Hugo Melville in cold blood. Mass riots followed. The Humans feared that the Avians would take action and wage war against all of Humankind. The governments of the world instated project David. Project David was named so to fell the Goliath known as the Avians. A biblical reference, of course. Project David was a system of capturing, categorizing, imprisoning, and if need be executing Avians. A super prison, designed to keep in those with great power. This is where the story begins.
This is where you lot come in. A short summary is: You are all imprisoned in the Avian Prison from Project David. The year is 2350. What you do from there is up to you, but a small group of Avians have decided to break out. Tired of being cooped up in this prison, discriminated against by humans, and angry at those Avians who betrayed them so they wouldn't be locked up. There is a plan set in place by the former leaders of the Cardinal and Cassowary factions, to escape some sacrifices will need to be made. But those who escape will carry on the legacy of those who are lost. Will you be the ones to be left behind or to die? Or will you be the ones to escape? That's up to you. The plot will be revealed once the RP begins, I won't spoil it in this post.
When Project David was enstated they also created a ranking system for Avians to categorize just how dangerous they are. Ranks: S-Rank: The most dangerous of any rank, an S-Rank can level a city in just a few days. They can take on armies on their own and conquer small countries if they can survive long enough. Any Avian marked S-Rank is marked for on-sight execution, period. If they are imprisoned then they are to be made imobile by fastening their limbs to a cross and their head to be encased in a dome of steel and lead. (This is not a playable rank for anything but NPCs and important plot characters.) A-Rank: The second most dangerous rank. A-Ranks are truly battle hardened warriors with power to spare, they are considered dangerous enough that lethal force is allowed without punishment. However, they are to be imprisoned if possible. B-Rank: This is the rank that most Avians lie in, your average superbeing with powers that exceed those of human by a significant amount. And while they are not one man armies they are still considered dangerous. Lethal force is only allowed if they have commited an execution worthy offense. All B-Ranks are to be imprisoned. C-Rank: Weaker than B-Ranks these are only marginally more powerful than any human being. A man with a handgun can easily kill a C-Rank. Lethal force is not allowed, all C-Ranks are to be imprisoned. D-Rank: Their abilities are negligible, they are often times mocked for their lack of ability. All D-Ranks are to be imprisoned. Lethal force is unnecessary. Avians have a variety of abilities that often intersect with eachother. These abilities are divided into three major groups, every one of these groups recieves a rank and the final rank of every Avian is determined with three letters. AAA, ABA, so on and so forth. Categories: Physical: The most straightforward of all three categories. Those who excel in the physical category are able to achieve feats of strength, speed, endurance, and other physical mutations. Such as wings, extra limbs, and tails. S-Ranks passively exude a bio-electric aura similar to that of an electric eel, some S-Ranks are capable of lifting up 100 tons. A-ranks are capable of physical feats exceeding 50 tons of lifting strength. There seems to be a give and take, however, the stronger they are the slower they are. The opposite is also true. D-Ranks are only capable of achieving feats similar to Olympians. Metaphysical: This one is a bit more tricky. Metaphysical abilities are the most varied of abilities, though they seem to have similar traits. The most basic metaphysical abilities are manipulation of energy, elements, and their own body. Example: A man who can shoot kinetic energy from his fingertips. A girl who can engulf her body in stone and throw them with her willpower. A man who can turn his body into some manner of liquid. The higher the rank, the higher the output and range. S-Ranks are constantly venting their energy or element, if they change shape then they are always partially that shape. Psychic: This one is less tricky, but more vague. Though, fortunately, no manifestations of mind control have emerged. (And will not emerge, period.) This subcategory includes psychokinesis, shield barriers, self propelled flight, so on and so forth. As with metaphysical, the higher the rank the higher the range and output. (If you need help with this one, PM me and we'll discuss it.) S-Ranks in the psychic category constantly have wind moving around their head.

Name: Title: Optional, but some Avians use superhero-esque names. Age: No younger than 20. Sex: Personality: Just give a rough summary of how they act. Remember, they are in prison and heavily discriminated against. Appearance: A rough description or a picture of your character, a picture is by no means required. For all three of these, remember, S-Rank is off limits until the second arc. Your character does not require all three categories to be filled. If they do not excel in more than one category, put down N/A. In this category, list your Rank and what your abilities are underneath each of the Subcategories. Physical Ability: Metaphysical Ability: Psychic Ability: Backstory: A short summary of their experiences. Take into account, they're in prison. So make sure you add in how they were captured. During the Second Arc, you can either keep them and create new ones, or drop them and create new ones. Or just not create a new one.
