As it turned out, it as a Friday afternoon on this day. Reports were apparently running rampant about two missing girls who didn't show up at their homes after school, and so police were rapidly searching for them. Tina and Meagen. So they were dead after all. A pity.

When Zendra's parents heard about this and the fact that Zendra was nowhere to be found at school, each of them immediately canceled their appointments to rush back home. As such, it was of great relief when they found their daughter sleeping peacefully in her room safe and sound.

It was then they noticed the sleeping form of Ariel right next to her. Honestly, they were too relieved to worry about the fact that Zendra had basically skipped the rest of school. Her mother went down to prepare some snacks; after all, it was only about 5:00. 

Zendra's father walked up to his daughter and gently shook her shoulder to wake her up. "Honey? We're home now. Wake up sweety. Does your friend want any snacks? Mom's baking cookies."

Ariel remained oblivious, still in her black dress and breathing slowly in sleep.
