[center]Acrobatics - She has a keen sense of balance and is able to pull of some complicated fire bending moves do to her balance as well as acrobatic skill.[/center]
[center]Flexible - As it says, she is able to contort her body to great effect. Though, she is no contortionist.[/center]
[center]Martial Arts (Fighting)[/center]
[center]Perception - She is able to spot things most people wouldn't, which is what makes her a good detective as well as fighter as it's hard for her to be fooled.[/center]
[center]Lightning Generation - She is able to use the lightning technique much like how Azula does. Not Ozai in the sense she can't generate lightning and sustain it for several seconds. Just a bolt.[/center]
[center]Fan Use - Her teacher was an avid friend of a Kyoshi Warrior and from that friend Xiu learned how to fight with their war fans and combine it with her element in combat. After all Azula said a fan only makes fire stronger.[/center]

[center]Curiosity - Sometimes she is far to curious. Those nine lives like to be used up because of this. She has to 'know' how things work. What causes them, or the origin of a mystery. This can be good, but often leads to trouble.[/center]
[center]Never Back Down - When challenged she finds that she can't run from it unless pried from it with exceptional effort from the people she cares about.[/center]
[center]Thrill Seeker - She doesn't like to relax, rather she wants to do something at some point. Like a literal being of flame she must find something to consume her time for fun or danger. Fun usually comes from solving mysteries or fighting as the inner police girl she has or she keeps searching for the 'fuel' for her flame of life.[/center]

[center]She is the teasing smart ass of the group. Kind of like Sokka, but far less 'stupid' about it. Enjoyment in life is what she seeks and from it leads to this personality of wanting to be involved in many things. When she teaches the Avatar she will likely be fun loving and have odd ways of explaining it. Such as igniting the trees around the Avatar on fire and telling him he has to stop the forest from burning down. Smirking and teasing them the entire time they try to do so. However, it is slightly contradictory as in a fight she seems to be collective. When having fun and smiling she somehow fights with precision and skill.[/center]

[center]Xiu was born to the now diseased police chief of Republic city. The one who took over after Toff's daughter had retired. After he mother died during childbirth her father was very protective, but was met with a daughter who loved to explore and get into trouble. A tomboy who would fight off bullies at school and even break a law or two to have fun. Several times her father found her following him on a case only to have to bring her home again. Even with this though he loved her. Her natural curiosity made him laugh as well as get angry after all. He couldn't blame her for being who she is.Because of his position though she knew she may be put in danger at times when people wanted revenge for putting them in jail. So he had her trained by a fire bending master named Lin Dao. The man was eccentric by most standards. Even as a master he only had a few students do to his odd ways of teaching. Students who would talk about his training shuddered at some of the horror they met. [/center]

[center]However, Xiu was different. She found it all fun and excited. Excelling through her training quickly and naturally. However, this ment she also did more damage across the city. Trying to 'help' her father solve crimes and take out criminals.This lead to the biggest feeling of guilt in her life and one that carries over still. She was captured by a gang of Republic city, in fact this gang even had high ranking officials trying to corrupt the government. Her father had been trying to take them down for three years and now they had a way to take him down a peg. In the hostage trade of her for the boss her father had recently taken in everything went wrong. A fight broke out, and in the end Xiu killed the man who caused her father's death. She didn't mean to kill him, but she knocked him back into a wall as the building was ablaze before it suddenly collapsed on top of him. Then came the guilt of her father dieing moment after outside from a mortal wound.[/center]

[center]She may fight, have pride, and be thrill seeking. However, she finds that she can't kill anyone again. No matter how bad they may be. This didn't stop her future career though. She was allowed a job at the department on the grace of her family name, but did show her capabilities. Becoming a rising star of the force. At the same time her training did continue. Focus allowing her to use Lightning even if the guilt weighed. her drive to make up for that day allowed her to be calm when the time comes. She enjoys every bit of life she can in place of the life she had taken and the life her father lost.After rising among the ranks she also rose in status as a fire bender. She seemed unstoppable at times which led her to the situation today. Her master became ill in his old age and is to weak to train the Avatar, so when the council had asked him he pointed them out to his best student. Xiu was at first reluctant as she didn't really want to be a teacher, but a chance to travel the world sounded fantastic. Her teacher gave her his blessing into teaching the Avatar and then she accepted the offer. Packing her things and moving to begin what may be a great adventure.[/center]
