I was thinking that Red X was attacked by the Order of Chaos, he barely escapes with his life but the damage to his right arm is to severe to be saved. He lays low for a long time, until he heals, then with great difficulty he steals a mechanical arm from LexCorp to replace the one the Order took for him. He then approaches Nightwing to join forces.
