Now, I fully understand this is closed, but I'm bored and off work today, so I may create a character for this as the new Omega Ruby version coming out has made Pokemon a rather frequent topic on my mind and you have quite effectively put a lot of important information together in an aesthetically pleasing manner. Anyway, point being I'm not being ignorant to the nature of the RP, I'm just bored and an extra CS/player on standby can't possibly hurt.
"Vision is not just seeing what is; true vision is seeing what could be." ― Niccolo Rinaldi Name. Niccolo "Nic" Rinaldi [19/M] Appearance. If not for his piercing eyes, which are normally a dark brown with speckled bits of a greenish hazel, Nic would settle into almost any crowd easily. His stature is a mere 5'8" with a lean, slightly athletic body. His hair, when dry, is a light brown with slight curves at its tips and tends to become even more curly when not cut during long adventures. When his hair becomes wet, its curly nature becomes more apparent as it curls out where it is shorter. His most common attire is a white, button-down shirt over either a vest or a thin, leathery jacket (the vest is more formal while the jacket is rugged enough for outings) with either black dress or black denim pants to match. Nic is also known for a set of glasses due adjust his vision, but he often removes them when debuting his psychic or aura-related abilities. When doing so, his eyes turn a bright blue and radiate a similar hue. Nic's Mark of Arceus is located on his left shoulder blade and is relatively large. Seemingly unique to Nic, his mark is thicker than most others with a hollow center that glows the same shade as his eyes when he is using aura or psychic related abilitie and does so brightly enough to be seen through his button-down shirt. Class. Clairvoyant ― (sub-classes: strategist, psychic, aura adept, survivalist)) is a class that specializes in perceiving, interpreting and understanding the world around them. The combination of capabilities required to be a clairvoyant include two of the rarest traits among all trainers: psychic prowess and aura reading. Trainers within this class are not only in tune with the world around them, but are highly in tune with their pokemon and other trainers as well. Because a clairvoyant can understand the world around them, they are capable of living in the wilderness with no assistance due to their ability to understand flora and fauna in such a way that their instinctual abilities are almost always accurate enough to ensure survival. Clairvoyants often face challenges such as understanding the trends they naturally develop and are often poor at verbalizing what they mean, as much of the time they can communicate with those closest to them in unconventional methods; their pokemon are a prime example of this as honed clairvoyants can often give telepathic commands to their pokemon. Special Abilities/Traits/Attributes. Although Niccolo is far from being the strongest of the guardians and is out-performed in raw intelligence by (an)other guardians, he is quite likely the most quick-witted and capable in decision-making. Nic is not only capable of seeing what is present, he is able to quickly discern its value and make judgement calls as to a plan of action. This trait transitions over not just to short-term, but is often a long-term capability as well. Nic is credited with 'seeing' far into the future in terms of planning. Niccolo is also a highly-capable combative trainer due to his ability to read the auras of other pokemon and psychically communicate with his, granting him the ability to react to moves faster and give his pokemon commands that an enemy trainer may never even hear all while plotting a highly tactical method of combat. Personality. Niccolo, from the very beginning, tended to work best alone. Ever since he was a child, he rarely got along with others and the teasing from other kids somewhat sent Niccolo down an antisocial path, at least with people. On the other hand, Niccolo has no qualms with talking to pokemon - literally. Aside from his slight antisocial traits, Niccolo is generally goal oriented. He has three pokemon and intends on making them as strong as he can before expanding his team. He also follows a relatively strict moral code and believes in following through with his promises to the best of his ability and to that degree is generally quite honest. As his best abilities relate to planning and strategy, he is excessively rage-prone when a group disregards his plan or ignores him. He is somewhat of a totalitarian leader with others, and that is his main disadvantage on a team. Aside from that, he generally likes to expand himself and learn in general. He views teachers as people whom deserve respect, as if they weren't as much people as they really are. In general, he does quite dislike people and even more so dislikes violence between two people. Niccolo firmly believes in a world where violence and aggression need only exist in the arena, and to that stance is nearly a paragon of pacifism. Theme: Closer to the Edge by Thirty Seconds to Mars History. Niccolo was born as the second child to a former kimono girl in Ecruteak City. It wasn't until Niccolo was two or three that his gifts began showing. At first, he claimed to see things, odd things that shouldn't be there. Niccolo was given glasses, which helped, and much of it was disregarded as the common ghost pokemon of the area simply bothering Niccolo from time to time, which again was common among all children. What his parents didn't realize is that Niccolo, among the city, was akin to a giant glowing candle in the darkness and with the release of so many pokemon from previous generations, he was in almost-constant attention from pokemon that few adults could even see. Niccolo, however, was rarely bothered by the constant visits and his own personal nature made the pranks that the constant stream of Ghastlies and Haunters more of a delight than a trouble.
It wasn't until he began his schooling that the influence of ghost pokemon ever actually became known. Niccolo made a name quickly as the 'weird kid' that thought he saw things. Reality was, he had always been able to see the auras around him and his psychic capabilities began developing, allowing him to see and communicate with ghosts as well. It was only a few months into his academic career that bullies began to make mean remarks and push him around. Ultimately, pushes led to real violence, but Niccolo had a myriad of unseen assistance. Dozens of ghost pokemon revealed themselves to scare the living shit out of those little punks, and Niccolo became a well-known name within the town. Niccolo, at times, was even called 'Little Morty' due to his affinity for ghost pokemon. One Haunter out of the entire group of pokemon stayed with Niccolo as he grew, and they became good friends. It was with this Haunter that Niccolo developed his telepathy and understanding of pokemon. Niccolo did not name Haunter; it turned out a previous owner of Haunter had already called him Slyte, so the name stuck. Niccolo was battling with Slyte even before he received his pokeballs (although mostly in mock battles) and was well on his way to becoming a disciple of the Ecruteak Gym, as most thought. From age five to eleven, Niccolo learned the basics of battling although he formally couldn't and maintained himself high-scoring scholar. All went well.. for a while. It was family tradition, even for the men, to take on an Eevee around this age, and the early skill that Niccolo had made most of his family intrigued as to what Niccolo would do with a pokemon that wasn't a ghost. To the surprise of his family, Niccolo turned down the offer for an Eevee. The act almost enraged them, but Niccolo had a reasoning for it. Even though the pokemon world had attempted to reintegrate released pokemon back into the world, not all of them found their way back. Niccolo was shown this by Slyte, whom showed Niccolo the downtrodden parts of Ecruteak that many pokemon lived in. Led by a majestic Ninetales, what seemed like hundreds of native pokemon grouped together in their own small society, refusing to reintegrate and living in harmony together. Many of these pokemon were the ghosts pokemon that had helped Niccolo so long ago. This Ninetales was enraged with the thought of a human being within her domain, but upon understanding Nic's nature and his ability to psychically understand her, she took this as an opportunity. The thought of having an entire species of pokemon be a 'tradition' for a family disgusted this Ninetales, and immediately understanding her plight, Niccolo promised her to never follow the tradition. This entire series of events created a cycle of a promise, breaking a family tradition and the Ninetales, surprised that any human would do such for a pokemon, offering one of her own children, a Vulpix, to Niccolo, if he promises to return her someday. Niccolo then asked, "What is her name?" Niccolo may have went on to become the next Ecruteak Gym Leader, or maybe even a member of the Elite Four, granted his potential. Instead, right around the same time he acquired Tali the Vulpix, he developed an odd mark on his shoulder blade and his psychic capabilities grew even stronger. Not only that, he could perceive a far greater area around him, so much that for the first while that this happened, he was afflicted with enough mental pain to merit him time away from school. Not long after this, even, word had spread and men from a far away place explained to Niccolo's parents, whom at this point would believe nearly anything about their bittersweet son, about what he was to be and how they could help him become it. Thus, Niccolo was taken away from his odd life in Ecruteak and plotted on Faraway Island where he was slightly less odd. There, much as with other aura readers, he honed his ability to read auras and was finally taught that it was an entirely different kind of sight than his psychic prowess. He was even instructed by some of the leading psychics in the entire pokemon world, so much that he became enthralled by a Metagross one of them used. Niccolo absolutely loved the pokemon in the same way one might appreciate a work of art, and the psychic offered him a Beldum if one would accept him after realizing Nic's psychic potential. This cemented in his team up until this point. Niccolo trained with his three pokemon until he was fourteen and chose to become a combative trainer, then at sixteen convinced his pokemon, with the exception of Tali, to enter their pokeballs and become registered to him. What ultimately became a team of Gengar, Ninetales and Metagross stuck with Niccolo as he developed as a trainer and was shown the path of the Guardian.
Items and Accessories

Medium-sized, water-resistant backpack, can be worn with one or two straps[/*]
A few medicinal items[/*]
Pen and paper[/*]
Rope[/*]
Rain coat-Thermal Blanket duo[/*]
Small bowl, flint & tinder and utensils[/*]
Minor food provisions and water purification tablets[/*]
Multi-tool on belt[/*]
Small Machete on belt[/*]
LED Flashlight on belt[/*]
Canteen on belt[/*]
Nat'l Pokedex on belt[/*]
Poketech Watch w/ compass, communications device (like from Gen II), maps, etc on wrist[/*]

Pokémon Team Team theme: Psychic Potential Team members Slyte (Gengar) Tali (Ninetales) Magnum (Metagross)
Name: Slyte Species: Gengar Type: Ghost/Poison Gender: Male Ability: Levitate Nature: Naive History: Slyte met Niccolo when he was only five and has been an integrate part of his life since. Slyte was once a Haunter caught and raised by a trainer generations ago, but was stored away due to not having the correct nature. Slyte claims he was named Slyte, but in truth was never given a name and has chosen this one as he believes he was 'slighted' by his former owner. Now he is the closest companion to Niccolo and became his friend after immediately believing the youthful words that the child told him long ago: "I will never forget you." Upon being given his own pokeballs, Slyte was the first pokemon that opted to become part of Niccolo's party and immediately evolved into a Gengar after doing so. Since then, Slyte often remains invisible and floats around Niccolo. He often acts as a type of scout and will telepathically show or tell Niccolo anything he may need to know. After seeing the surprising nature of Niccolo, Ninetales asked for another promise from Niccolo; to raise Tali to become a pokemon that reflected his beliefs, then bring her back so that her mother could see the wonderful pokemon she became. Tali, as a young Vulpix pup, was always making trouble in Ecruteak and had a distinct disdain for humans. Years of training with Niccolo and evolving have since given her a more relaxed nature, but she is still easily the most hot-headed and sometimes even spiteful member of Nic's team. Nic was shown several Beldum, but one had to choose him to be his companion. Nic failed several times to 'catch' a Beldum telepathically, but of all the buzzing noises that one could feel on the telepathic plain, the most quiet was the one to choose Nic. The Beldum was hard to communicate with at first and as with all Beldum's, only knew one attack. It was also excessively difficult to train him when his other pokemon were either super powerful or half-useless against him. Regardless, Nic trained tirelessly with Beldum, eventually resulting in Beldum evolving into Metang. With evolution came a huge spike in communication and intelligence, ultimately resulting in Metang naming itself and becoming one of the most-seen companions of Nic. Nic would regularly train himself and all of his pokemon by psychically connecting with them, and he would do so while standing on top of his floating Metang. This tradition carried on even after the abrupt evolution of Metang, but with its added size as a Metagross, allowed Nic to literally ride on top of Magnum as a form of transportation with little-to-no effort from Magnum. Although Slyte was his first pokemon, many trainers unknowingly attribute Magnum to being Nic's signature pokemon.
