Though Daniel definetely meant his words to be reassuring, Kat had noticed both the uncertain tone in his voice and the long pause he had taken to think about the answer before answering. He wouldn't admit to it, it seemed, but he was definetly just as worried about Emilia as she was. He was probably thinking through every bad possibility that Kat wasn't allowing herself to even think of thinking about. She would just make herself insane if she started imagining things now. "It's Emilia.. She can handle herself. You know that.. I bet you she might just not be feeling well today and don't want to tell you because she knows that you'll be mad and force her to come." he said in the end, making Kat raise an eyebrow. Normally she would've turned at punched him for that, ut at the moment she wasn't up for getting revenge for the teasing. She sighed.

And froze for a second when she noticed Daniel shifting a little closer and putting an arm around her shoulder to pull her into a half-hug. Normally she would've freed herself and teased him mercylessly for that. Now, it was really comforting, so she leaned into him and put her head back on his shoulder, looking up at the sky. "It can be just us two today. Don't think about anything else. I mean, it's not that bad right? We get to do things that Emilia normally would stop us from doing! Like arguing or playing catch." Kat laughed and turned her head to look at his face as he looked up at the sky. Arguing and playing catch, not like Emilia ever really managed to get them to stop with that, it's basically what they were always doing. "Or just.. Spend some more time a little less hectic." he added, making her smile.

"Less hectic... that sounds good." she replied. "You're right, it's Emilia. She'll be fine." she added with a nod to herself, trying to reassure them both. "God, I so don't want to go back to class! But someone has to take notes for Emilia. And we can't leave Sirius to himself without any warning.." she mused. Noticing she was still holding his lunch, Kat lifted it up a little and continued to eat until half of it was gone, then put it on Daniel lap. "There you go. Aren't I being nice?" she teased him with a grin and bumped him lightly in the side with her elbow.
