I'm afraid that you can't use the scroll, then. Because that just sounds like a method of using the bind modifier without actually having to take it, and you can't carry a shield unless it's [i]actually[/i] a shield, because that's sort of the role your armour plays, at least until you unlock a Modifier for it at lvl 2.
Remember that this is [i]The B Team[/i], the whole point is that they're second rate. They're not smart, strong and deft, they're either, or, or none, y'know? Part of the fun is the fact that they [i]suck[/i] at their jobs.
