That of a journalist, or anthropologist. I do get the urge to influence/change the hearts and minds of people, but it's never in a certain direction. I just want to offer people different perspectives (like mine sometimes, naturally), or even just offer them the right catalyst to broaden their perspectives. It's all about shifting the way you see things to kind of open up different ideas and take away some of the black & white certainty about things.

Also I don't really like going in somewhere and trying to change the makeup of the situation. I like to observe patterns and dynamics and see how they change over time, without my interference. I find that kind of change extremely interesting. Plus my writing style tends to be dispassionate/dry like a journalist, the depersonalized style always suited me more.
