Now hearing the words being spoken, it recognized the speech as Common. The words were odd for it to hear, but at the same time they offered a modicum of relief. At the very least, it was far from its old world, where the language was dead, along with any races that might have spoke it. A small grin might have formed when it noticed the sole non-magical being address it, if only for the briefest of moments. Her choice of words was a bit odd since it didn’t really have a gender, none of its kind did. Then again, his form was distinctly one of the male variety amongst humanoids, so she wasn’t incorrect either. He didn’t respond with gestures, being unfamiliar with them, nor words, not seeing a point. Instead he turned his attention to the other denizens of this strange place. Two left too quickly for him to get anything more than a cursory glance at either of them, the humanoid of the two scrambling away after some panicked words. The other two that remained didn’t look too different from the non-magica. Sure one of them held her head detached from the rest of her body, but he had seen far worse and stranger before. He was more curious as to their capabilities, what they could command magic to do for them. For now, curiosity could take a back seat to finding out more about exactly where he had found himself though. His voice was raspy as if it hadn’t been used for a long time, and indeed it hadn’t, but he spoke nevertheless. “Curious indeed, it’s overflowing with energy. How has this existed?” He was genuinely interested if anyone could give him an answer - a place like this wouldn't have lasted in his old world as untold numbers would have flocked to it for a chance to taste such a large amount of energy. This world was different from his own, but he needed to know how different.
