When free of troubles or challenge, Lupa is a calm, compassionate woman with an appreciation for silence. She has a motherly nature, causing her to be extremely protective of others in her "Pack". When things become more intense, her animalistic qualities become more pronounced, particularly when dealing with violence and anger. Her hatred for undead is so strong that she has both a hard time showing mercy and a hard time controlling herself when faced with them. Even having been given quite a while to adapt to modern life, Lupa's years as a beast far outnumber her years surrounded by Humans, so she still has quite a ways to go before she's adapted to relatively new activities, such as conversation, watching television or shopping for clothing. The modern world seems a constant surprise to her, and she discovers new, amazing technologies when she looks around every corner. Her lack of experience with technology often leads to frustration, a trait that has once been called "cute" by one of her fellow squad members. Regardless of how she's been forced to adapt, she'll always be considerably more comfortable in the wilds, particularly in North America.
Lupa's story is a long one, a story that far outstretches that of the nation she calls home today. When she was young and human, she was attacked by a werewolf while hunting wild game, nearly losing her life in the process. She was saved by pure chance, by her mate and others who had gone after her, to help her haul back her kill. She took quite a while to recover, and was on the brink of dying to infection before she experienced her first turning, becoming a feral monster who proceeded to kill her mate and every other human or animal she could find within a mile radius. At daybreak, she came back to her senses and mourned what she had done for three days straight, before putting things behind her and doing her best to survive on her own. In time, the yearning began and she found herself in the midst of a small werewolf pack. She joined with them because she had nobody else, and together, they commanded a sprawling territory for many, many years. She worked her way up in the pack, growing stronger by the year and killing anybody who contested her. It was a brutal lifestyle, but a successful one. Much time had passed by this point, but by now she was the strongest werewolf in a pack which had doubled in size since she joined. She felt powerful, and her feelings of companionship with those around her was even stronger, allowing her to easily hold together the large pack and lead them into a bright, safe future. That was, until the white man came from across the sea. At first, while shocked at recent developments, Lupa and her pack protected their territory fiercely, repelling all attempts for passage from the white-skins, and even adding some of them to their numbers. The learned about them, listening to the tales of their newest whelps, hearing of the great empire beyond the water. The pack adapted, learning from the new ways and eventually hunting their new prey just as they would any other man. Things begun to take on a sense of normalcy despite the changes, but just as they thought they had overcome yet another challenge, a new, fatal enemy to them appeared. In the past, they had clashed with other werewolf packs in ferocious battles over territory or hunting grounds. However, they had never in their time encountered an enemy quite like this one. It looked like any other white man, but with dead blood and the strength of a werewolf hidden within. They came in their own packs, and invaded the Werewolve's own territory, killing many of their kind with treachery and cunning. Lupa and her wolves fought back brutally when they realized this enemy had killed their kin, but it was already too late, they were greatly outnumbered by this new enemy. In a final, decisive battle, Lupa's pack was almost entirely annihilated by the new menace, leaving only her to flee like a coward and lick her wounds. She ran far away, warning other werewolves of the looming threat and escaping to find new territory, in a series of great mountains. Here, she chose to lay low, never again forming a pack around her or choosing to expand her territory. It is not known exactly when Lupa first came into contact with the Regiment, but for many years she was a dangerous enemy to their hunters, protecting her home with such ferocity that hunters no longer dared cross into her territory, for fear of her wrath. Humans continued to expand at an astounding pace, but they rarely intruded on the stretch of mountains that belonged to her. One day, one of the cold-skinned monsters arrived in her territory, just when she had begun to grow at peace with her solitary life. She killed it, tearing out its heart with her claws so that it could not regenerate itself. Killing it was...pure Ecstasy, the feeling that had grown from many decades of resentment. She realized that she truly hated these creatures, in a way unlike any hatred she had ever felt in the past. Suddenly consumed with bloodlust, she left her small territory and began to hunt these beasts in the wilds, but quickly realized that they no longer ventured into such palces. They lived in these human settlements, which spewed foul smells and absurd noises even at a great distance. Lupa found herself at a loss, but continued to hunt them as she had been before, only occasionally venturing near human settlements. Eventually, she once again encountered the men who called themselves the Regiment, but this time she knew more about them. They not only hunted her kind, but also the cold-skinned monsters called Vampires. At some point, her and a hunter operation crossed paths, but she only killed those who attacked her. Those who remained, she asked about the Vampires, about how she could hunt them. They fled, but in time she was contacted by the Regiment itself. This string of events lead to her joining their ranks, where her reputation was known to many of the higher ranked or older members. Soon, she was introduced to those she would be working with, a group that even included another of her own kind, which surprised her greatly. At the same time, she began to learn more about the world and the extraordinary place it had evolved into during her long life. Most of all, however, she was given a special opportunity, one that she has yet to truly recognize...
