Actual pet peeves:

When someone asks me what I'm doing while I'm in the kitchen. Whatever I'm doing, I'm probably not too proud of it.

and

When someone asks something like "Making waffles?" when I'm sitting there buttering a couple of obvious waffles.

EDIT: I guess those were the same thing.
