Speaking of 'strategy', I'm thinking of adding a soldier from X-COM: Enemy Unknown.

Maybe psionic(Basically, using their mind as a weapon, mind controlling bastards, causing dimensional rifts that damage anyone who steps in it, making people panic without reason through mind control.)

Or a mech.

Or a gene modded.

Or a normal one...Hm.
