Basic Idea and Plot So I have had this idea for quite the while. Alot of fantasy RPs just do the basic 'You are some heroes, go fight this bad dude' or 'You are this guild/group, first mission is easy, but suddenly shit goes down on it and things happen' or other such plots. While I do not mind any form of typical fantasy RP plot (when they are well done), I have decided that for this RP, there will be a bit of a change. Instead of the basic, more typical main overarching plot, I plan on doing something a bit different. This RP will have no main story. No overarching plot over the entire thing. This RP will instead be a simple adventure RP. Your characters are traveling for whatever reason. Maybe you are simply seeking glory and fame? Maybe you just want to see the world or you have someone, or something, you are looking for. Whatever your reason is, you are essentially traveling the world now, going on all different kinds of adventures. Yes, the 'plot' of this RP will be the plot of whatever adventure(s) your character happens to stumble upon. Maybe you find some ancient ruins and explore them, or maybe you find yourselves in the middle of an assassination plot for a king or have to deliver some strange and powerful artifact? Not only that, but you are free to abandon an adventure at any time. Your characters can opt to just leave and go somewhere else, like perhaps maybe you have been told to deliver something, but you would rather keep it instead or you find it best to not get further involved in something. Still, every decision you make affects the world around you. Perhaps sparing someone's life will maybe benefit you as they could help you down the road or perhaps hurt you at a later date. Maybe that artifact you delivered helped open a whole new type of magic to the world and magic may be changed in the near future, for better or for worse. Yes, the world will change. Discovery is the second main theme of this RP. This world is largely unexplored with many places waiting to be (re)discovered and many secrets that can be unearthed. As you explore the world you will come upon many amazing and incredible things (possibly). Many incredible places, shocking secrets, or even certain people or plots. How you interact with any of these things will naturally affect the world in one way or another. Regardless of what you do though the world will change with time and new and interesting things may be uncovered, affecting it in all different sorts of ways. So yes, since the world changes time will also progress. Naturally as time progresses, your characters will get older. Some may retire from adventuring due to old age or perhaps having grown wealthy or being placed in a situation where they cannot adventure anymore (death and imprisonment are two common things that could cause this). With this in mind, characters will come and go, sometimes permanently, other times temporarily. So where am I going with this? Well, as from the current name of this RP, this RP will be more about adventuring and traveling through the world, making stories and tails of the adventures and discoveries these characters make, following their growth and their stories. Of course, this will also be a story about the world as well. How it changes, how the decisions of these people affect it. We will be making not just a journey together, but a world in itself. I am looking for 4 to 6 players (including myself). Note that this RP will also have a Game System that is very RP heavy. More details about that below. --- Setting More details will be present in the RP thread, but for now this is what there is of the world known as Ithelia. Naturally the world will change over time, but for now it will start out as a very archaic world. Maybe 1000 to 2000 or so years (give or take, this is not finalized) after the dawn of Galmin (this world's humans) civilization, meaning things aren't gonna be too far along yet. Indeed there will be civilization, but it will be far and between. You will find that things will be a bit more barbaric or archaic (think very, very early medieval, very early) here and maybe here and there there may be signs of more civilized civilization. However as time passes (and alot of time will pass at certain points), this will begin to change as civilization and civilized behavior becomes more common.
Magic is there, but it is just sort of there. Magic is very simplistic and basic in the world (to start off with). Magic is also a bit uncommon. In fact, not too many people are accepting of this art, which the users of often call The Craft or the Arcane Craft. Those who are doubtful of magic mostly consider it a form of dark or demonic power like what many of the demons or other evil and powerful creatures of this world wield. Most people actually consider Alchemy to be the more amazing art than Magic as Alchemy, the art of creating various items or brews out of special materials, plants, or other substances is often considered able to do many things that magic, as primitive as the known magic is, cannot. People often confuse and lump together regular magic though with the twisted dark arts of magic that rely upon darker forces to corrupt and pervert the world around them to acquire power (regular magic moves and commands the world around you). Of course, as potentially powerful as this dark art may be, it is not only very dangerous (as you have to rely on demons or other dark forces to use it), but it also, like magic, is not too far in advancement.

The Galmin are the more widespread residents of Ithelia. They are pretty much this world's humans, only they have a few key differences. For starters, they possess a bit more endurance, their ears possess very small points at the end, and their teeth are just a small bit sharper, and their eyecolor, which is the same as regular humans, also may possess a blackish tint to it. Other than these couple of minute physical differences, Galmin are practically the same as humans. The Galmin are a young race, but despite their youth are a very widespread presence across the entire land, with many different villages and towns, and even a few somewhat large, civilized cities, all spread out here and there are products of this Galmin race. Aside from the Galmin though, many different kinds of creatures, both mystical and non mystical, and other beings of power reside in Ithelia, some of them making the more unexplored and unmapped lands of this grand old world very dangerous. Perhaps you adventure to hunt down these creatures for fame and glory, or study them for knowledge? Tales also tell of other beings who can stand, talk, and walk like the Galmin, yet are not Galmin out there, meaning that there may be other races out there in this wide open world. Perhaps you are a member of one of these races or seek to prove their existence? Or maybe you may do so accidentally.

The Mainland of Ithelia (or the only land according to the common belief of many) is a very wide open land with many forests, deserts, fields, lakes, and mountains all across the land. Parts of it are safe, but others are teeming with danger and there are many places that are not marked on maps and are thus duitfully unexplored. You may also find old ancient ruins or other such things in your travels. Perhaps your goal is to discover and fill in the blank parts of the map or to uncover ancient ruins and unearth their secrets or steal their treasure? One other thing to note is that surrounding the main land of Ithelia is a vast and mighty ocean. It is believed by some though that on the other side of this incredible ocean is a land unlike any other, but the ocean, also known as the Abyssal Sea, is impassible as many have tried, and none have returned. Alot believe that it is due to the ocean swallowing them up, but others believe that they found these mythical 'Far Lands', as they are called, and found them so incredible that they decided to stay there and leave their old lives and homes behind. Perhaps your goal is to travel to these lands, or maybe you could even have been a traveler from them yourself somehow (I will allow someone to be from the Far Lands if they really want to be). One other thing to note is that the bards' tales also sometimes speak of mysterious structures that sometimes appear in the middle of nowhere or already existing, and abandoned, caves or buildings being changed on the inside by something. These are all just rumors though.
So as you can see from all of this, there is plenty to do in this maginificent land, plenty to yet be discovered. Are you someone who seeks discovery? Or do you just seek adventure for a more personal reason and could care less if the discovery comes to you? There's only one way to find out. --- The Game System I did mention that this would be a thing. This RP will have a very RP heavy game system based around it that also provides for alot of character customization. Combat will be turned based, but also more RP based as well. There will be no tatical maps or anything of the sort (As that shit can take forever). Character's will have a single Main Action (attack, use magic, use an item, and etc) and other Simple Actions (move, drop something, etc) that they can perform on their turn. All tasks will be rolled with dice using your character's various Talent and Stat Scores to determine success, but also good RP will help with success as well as the better you describe and word out your character's attempt at something you could get a bonus for them to succeed, or maybe a penalty as well (I support both, both can make it very interesting), especially when talking to other NPCs. Depending upon your wording, when trying to negotiate with them, you could recieve a bonus or penalty to your roll to negotiate with them. There will be no Character Levels. Instead your characters will simply gain XP as they adventure which can be used to purchase new Traits, improve their Talents, or even raise their Stats. Of course, every certain amount of XP you gain gives you an automatic character growth that lets you raise a stat for free (as XP represents character growth), but other than that there will be no active 'level up' system, you are free to have your character improve and change however you please. note that I will take care of all dice rolling and number crunching so that you guys don't have to worry too much about that. More on the Game System will come after I make the RP thread itself (which will come after I get some potential players).
