Daniel was able to relax, though his eyes alertly scanned the restaurant and the people within just in case, a bit of attention paid to the muted tv to see if they would show up on it. That would make for an awkward situation, though the fact that it was muted helped. The last thing he needed was to be confronted by a group of angry truckers. Not that he couldn't handle it, but it was a distraction he didn't need. Soon enough the waitress returned with their food, and Daniel nodded his thanks. First, a sip of milk to wet his throat, before he turned to his food, cutting up the pancakes and drizzling syrup on them before he got to eating, once in a while adding a sip of milk or sausage. He glanced from his food to Alexis with her hushed question. "Of course," he replied succinctly. "But I'm good at hiding it. If you look like you've got something to hide, you just draw attention. Besides, after a while I learned to just stop worrying over things I can't control. Now I just take things as they come." He shrugged before taking another bite of pancake.
