“Yeah but there is more to this, I’ll explain what I can on the way.” Giovanni sighed before he hopped off the roof and started for the gate. He didn’t speak until after they had made it out of the seireitei. “For the last year or so I have been conducting a personal investigation. As you may have noticed over the last two decades or so the shinigami population has thinned out significantly. While there was a large number of casualties, including captain level fighters a substantial part of the numbers were deserters. Normally squad 2 handles those kinds of things but due to the lack in numbers in the seireitei as I whole I think they haven’t been putting much effort into tracking them down and focused on maintaining the seireiteis’ security. In the same way the Kido corp got left on the back burner for decades, other things took priority. I found that these deserters are not technically traitors. While techinically they broke our most important laws they have continued to protect Souls from hollows in the outer districts. We Call them the Sect. since shinigami from the seirietei are seldom deployed in the far districts past 70 that seems to be where their bases are. Since they don’t have to follow the governing rules of a shinigami they gain respect through violence and other not so pleasant means, but they take their duty to kill hollows seriously. I honestly don’t know much about them other than they come from all kinds of squads and specialties so they are fully capable carrying out their missions. But some get a bit bog headed, demanding unruly things and well… long story short they basically get disavowed, and left for dead. It’s a simple system that works. I’ve deduced that they are most likely governed by 4 high level Ex-shinigami. Given that they operate in each Distric direction secretly and as a unit. But something has brought some of these units together and they are converging on our menos’ location. What ever you do, do not engage them. they out number us and probably are more than willing and capable of ending us. However there is a chance that one of the leaders will be here, given the severity and urgency of the call and response. If I can speak with him..or her. I might be able to get more information about these Menos sightings….or a hands on lesson in more advanced tactics than we get with our regular training. The investigation wasnt...top secret or anything, just more like one of personal interest that i was able to conduct in what ever free time i could get. feels good to have back up though.” As he got closer to the scene his senses began to pick up a lot of spiritual pressures. Sure there was a menos, but there were a lot of hollows. A lot of shinigami(sect) spiritual pressures and something else. Something he hadn’t sensed before but it was definitely hollow in origin. He kicked up his speed and eventually stopped to observe for a moment, not bothering to hide his spiritual pressure. The scene was Epic. Dozens of fighters fighting dozens of hollows. “be careful” he warned Gustavo “there is something here that’s far stronger than the menos. And its hiding…Harmonize, Sorareo-O” he drew his zanpakuto as it transformed into a rapier. “don’t worry about the menos, they are handling it, focus on the Hollows, and stay sharp” With that Gio shunpoed into the battle rather gracefully. While he normally focused on Kido this time he did his best to exemplify squad fives reputation in overall excellence. While Kido was is forte all day everyday, he long since discovered that hakuda and kido went well together and the swordplay was an added bonus. He switched effortlessly between the three skills, though his zanjutsu was really lacking compared to his reflexes and kido. His ability to fly madehim a hard target to hit and a fast striker, never firing a kido that he might miss, making sure to fire them at close range only, even infusing them into his sword strokes for added power.
