You're a good sport. :] People are always extra careful about new entries from people they don't know personally, since it's hard to know for sure how reliable the newbie is or how they play, and being too lenient sets a bad standard. Thus the concern it would be abused (or brought up only in an occasional crisis) rather than the expectation that it'd be played up for laughs/shown as faulty. A little time in the RP and you'll be allowed to do all sorts of crazy shit without people batting an eye and worrying about it. ;]
