I used to walk into gamestop with a handful of crap I didn't want, and walk out with six pre-owned games and $40 of store credit. So.... yeah, actually, it can be better than free. But that's not the point. Point is, cheap old games are not the sole domain of the PC master race. PC-only indie titles, maybe. But even those get ported over to (well I play on PS4 but in general) consoles, and sometimes they're even free to download/play. Like Outlast. Went on steam sale for ten bucks, cost me nothing.
