Aiden couldn't believe what he was hearing.. a new partner.. but he had been with Azura since boot camp. They had been through so much together since their initiation into the organization. Every time something happened to one, the other made sure they were there to get the others back. They had become inseparable, as if they rediscovered each other after a lifetime apart.. tears started rolling down Aiden eyes after the director stepped forward and put his hand on his shoulder. "Son, I'm not asking.." Aiden asked if that was all the director had to say, to which he replied, "yes." The Pyro turned from the director and faced the door to Azura room, grabbed the door handle and felt a shock. The handle was way too cold he thought to jomself. Getting ready for anytjing, Aiden burst through the door, fireball ready in his open hand. He charged through the opening to find himself faced off with Ryu, his fire rival from the academy. "R-Ryu.." Aiden stumbled on his words. "Coming to with Azura a speedy recovery?" He questioned while scanning the room. He noticed the rather large wall of ice shielding them from the other half of the room, Azura standing on the other side trying to get his attention. "You must have cause Azura quite a bit of a shock if she cast a defensive spell this powerful. . What gives Ryu?" Aiden asked. Ryu responded, "Well she seemed to be a little scared of this." Holding the syringe up to the light. "Ryu, why do yo-" Aiden tried to ask as Ryu swiftly stabbed the unsuspecting Pyro in the neck and released all of the liquid into his blood stream. Aiden eyes turned while and his mouth fell open as his body dropped limply to the floor. Azura screamed as loud as she could, the muffled yell barely making it to the ears of the new focus of her intense hatred. Ryu turned to her and with his pinky, carved into the ice wall for her to read.. "it should have been you" and a skull and crossbones underneath. With one last insult to injury, Ryu lept from the balcony to a location unknown.
