We also wish that both Prussia and Denmark would come to Turin in order to settle the matter of Schleswig-Holstein. While I shall not disclose my opinion on the matter of who should own what, the UKSN believes that it was wrong to make this decision with the presence of Denmark. Therefore, we wish that Prussia would cancel or postpone their ultimatum to Denmark until the subject can be discussed in Turin. We desire to prevent any bloodshed in this matter, especially for our Scandinavian brethren to the south. Sweden is also proud to announce another non-aggression pact.
Preamble This treaty has been drafted for the purpose of European neutrality in the conflict that has erupted on the American continent. This conflict has already caused tempers to soars for both sides of the conflict. Some clamor for the Union, others for the rebels. However, it is in Europe’s best interest to remain neutral in this conflict, lest a war unlike any other that mankind has ever seen will descend upon our nations. Therefore, the nations of Sweden and Russia has decided to sign this treaty, the Swedish-Russian Non-Aggression Pact for European Neutrality, to show our support in staying neutral in the American conflict and hopefully preventing a Pan-European War. Article I The Swedish-Russian Non-Aggression Pact for European Neutrality calls upon the nations of Sweden and Russia to abstain from declaring hostilities against one another if a Pan-European War happens to ignite. Instead, the nations of Sweden and Russia must instead use diplomatic channels for settling any hostilities between these two nations. Article II This treaty shall remain valid for five (5) years. Once the fifth year has ended, this treaty is hereby dissolved: Article III This treaty shall be dissolved once the above condition is completed However, once that condition is completed, both nations who signed this treaty may opt for extend this treaty for an additional five years. After every five years, Sweden and Russia may continue to renew this treaty as long as both sides agree to the terms. Alternatively, Sweden and Russia may also draft a new treaty that would provide a more permanent peace. Article V Sweden and Russia shall enter into a trade agreement in which the two nations mutually benefit each other. Article V By signing this treaty, the signee (each of the two nations who sign this treaty) agrees to uphold everything that has been detailed above and everything that will be detailed below. Also by signing this treaty, the signee agrees that by breaking this treaty, they are liable to economic sanctions and public shame on the international scene. However, if either signee would wish to be relieved from this treaty, they may ask first before breaking the treaty in order to not receive the above penalties. Article VI Either signee may propose (an) amendment(s) to this treaty. However, the other signee must agree to it in order for the amendment to be considered valid.
