Arlene raised an eyebrow. "So...what is with the lights?" she asked, breaking off a tiny bit of bacon for Moe. "I feel like I should know. There's quite a bit of chemistry involved, and that's my field, but these are different." She didn't seem too bothered by the lights themselves. It was more the fact that she didn't know exactly what made them so strange. "I considered magnesium, but that gets much too hot and doesn't burn very long." She finished the food, downed her juice and went back to petting the dog. "Well, anyway, it was very kind of you to allow the both of us to stay here. I should probably be on my way soon."
