Meirin did not expect this to happen. With all that occurred yesterday, she did not expect to see this boy. She felt ashamed at first, wondering why he was hugging her. Only when she glanced at Ssarak did she remember with great clarity that the two of them saved this boy as well as a few others last night. It made her glad that he survived, as it reminded her that Ssarak was right; she did save lives, despite her own self doubts. It still pained her to see the faces of those who were just out of her grasp, but for a moment she was glad that she was able to save at least one life, perhaps even more. When the boy went to embrace Ssarak, Meirin simply stood quietly until the boy let go. He opened his mouth to try to say something, but he was speechless. What else was there to say? She knew that he wanted to thank the two of them, but perhaps out of shock or shyness he could not. Meirin simply stepped over to the boy and put a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "We're both glad that you're alive. How are you holding up?" Meirin than gave Ssarak a subtle but understanding look; she would speak to the boy for now, and allow him a chance to check in the Infirmary.
