As far as out-of-body experiences go, there seem to be enough reported cases to say that it's possible, though I can't say I remember ever experiencing one myself. I actually watched this really neat National Geographic documentary called "The Moment of Death" and this was one of the things they talked about. Really interesting, but ultimately no way to prove or disprove it.
