There was not really any hard specs on the Autumn class Cruiser, so I compared it to several other ships of the same size/role and guesstimated based on size and research of in universe and real world counter parts on the complement and armament and such, I got...a bit out of hand, let me know If I need to tweak the numbers and and if this ship is even acceptable at all. if preferable I can switch to a UNSC Carrier or a smaller ship from Halo or another universe. It is very late so I will sleep on my opening scene tonight, I have a few ideas but I want to think about them and give them a little depth tomorrow.

Pre-Departure Scene:
Not a speck of dust tarnished the gleaming bridge of the latest Autumn class cruiser as is slowly slid farther and farther away from the port at which it was constructed. Captain Caber stood, the padded captains chair still unused after two weeks of shake down trials. 

 "Going as planned, Captain?" The smooth, delicate voice of ONI Intelligence Officer Major Somayeh Raza broke the silent hum of machinery. The bridge officers started but quickly returned to their duties. Raza was accompanied, as always but her two black armored ONI Bodyguards.

 "As well as can be accepted Major, we shall be departing to your destination on schedule" Her eyes narrowed at the offhand tone with which he addressed her. before she could comment he seated himself in the command chair. Two tiny beings of light materialized from a large tank at the center of the bridge. One, Caden, a completely covered and hooded figure and the other , Wendak, to the form of a young mechanic in dirty coveralls and shaggy hair.

 "We shall be prepared to enter slipspace in 2 minutes Captain" Cadens voice was soft but firm.
 
 "Excellent" he nodded at the hooded figure and turned his head slightly "Wendak, monitor the Slipspace drives as we run up to the jump" The tiny mechanic flicked out of existence and Caber turned his attention to the bridge crew, typing at there consoles expectantly. 

 "Navigation" He started the standard pre-slip checks.

Lieutenant Kim brushed her hair from her forehead "Astronavigation is Locked in sir"

 "Weapons?"

Lieutenant Scott seemed slightly distracted by the presence of Major Raza on the bridge and took a moment to respond "Mac cannon and all batteries report locked down for Slipspace travel"

 "Communications?"

Lieutenant Haley pressed the set of headphones to her ear for a moment "We have clearance from Earth C&C, we are go for departure"

 "Operations?" It was silent, Lieutenant Garza typed furiously on his console, Captain Caber waited a moment before saying a little louder "Operations?"

 Garza jumped a little in his seat "Oh, yes, Apologies Captain, Sensors are still a bit out of alignment sir, apparently we have a large, moon sized object directly off our Bow" he adjusted a few controls on his panel "Sensors are clear sir, we are clear for launch"

 Caber nodded and click the engineering comm button on his console. Before he could say anything, Chief Engineer Vasilyev powerful voice barked at the entire bridge crew. 
 "Put y'r back into it, ye Filthy do- Oh, Captain, what can I do for you sir?"

Caber smiled. Vasilyev had served on every ship he had yet to command. 

 "Engineering?" The last part of the checklist.

 "Aye Captain, shes running grade, ready to slip on your orders" pride was evident in Vasilyev's voice.

The pre-slip checks completed, Captain Caber of the UNSC Icarus stood. "Lieutenant Kim, take us out" Caber watched as the young Lieutenant clicked the series of commands that would tear open the fabric or reality and send the ship hurtling across the universe. 

Then everything went black.
